C4D Focus/Experience
Daniel has knowledge and experience in development communication (ICT for Development), social science research, project design, implementation, monitoring, and learning. He has competence in the development and implementation of M&E frameworks and tools as well as experience with project frameworks, regulations, and reporting procedures of UKAid, EU, DANIDA, and Christian Aid. Alongside project management, his previous work has covered strategic communications, policy formulation, networking, and advocacy.
He’s worked on research to identify the priority needs of private actors within the Ghanaian and Nigerian rice value chains. The research led Daniel to co-author eight policy papers, which serve as advocacy tools for engagement with the public sectors of Ghana and Nigeria. His own academic research has explored social media usage among NGOs in Ghana which was published by the Public Relations Review-Journal in 2016.
Daniel previously worked on a fixed-term contract with Christian Aid International on the Strengthening Transparency, Accountability, and Responsiveness in Ghana (STAR-Ghana) Programme as SMS Voices Project Manager. He was responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the STAR-Ghana SMS Voices Platform – a digital platform that enabled over 150 trained marginalized citizen representatives including People with various forms of disabilities to open instant dialogues with their respective local government officials on their needs and priorities via mobile technology (SMS).
Role
Daniel is currently engaged by On Our Radar limited (OOR) - a UK-based communications firm comprising a specialist group of journalists, technologists, digital storytellers, and development practitioners who work together to surface stories from unheard groups worldwide. He manages the digital delivery of the UKAid funded Evidence and Collaboration for Inclusive Development (ECID) project in Nigeria and Zimbabwe, as well as supporting the digital components of OOR projects across Africa & the global South.
