C4D Focus/Experience

20 years experience in communications for development, including social and behavioural change; strategy design and development; managing C4D projects from needs analysis, design, implementation, problem -solving, monitoring and evaluations; and development and delivery of training materials and courses, including participatory learning and action. I have facilitated the development and empowerment of community based organisations, worked at with regional and international non-governmental organisations, bi and multilateral aid agencies, UN organisations and directly with government ministries to assist strategy development and coordination. I developed Rwanda's National Health Behaviour Change Communication Strategy; Botswana's National Behaviour and Social Change training curricula; assessed the communication needs to support micro-nutrient fortification of subsidised bread in Egypt; helped farmers use ICT to find timely, accurate market information in Uganda; developed regional training materials for communities to support orphans and vulnerable children in southern Africa; evaluated a child labour reduction programme in Malawi and UNAIDS Regional HIV prevention programme in 20 countries.
