Dear C4D Community,
I am the Social Media Consultant for CommsConsult and am currently acting as a guest Commissioning Editor for Research to Action (R2A) for the next month. We are looking to build up the repository of social media guides, blogs and ‘How-To’ resources that are already available on R2A and hope that you can help!
Are you willing to share some of your own experiences and knowledge on R2A - both helping others to learn and perhaps further your own research and communications goals?
Could you either contribute a short blog or answer a quick Q & A on one of the following areas?
- Your opinion on the role of social media in research uptake (how important/integral is it to an effective communication strategy?).
- Your personal experiences running or setting up social media account(s) for a development or research project, institution or organisation.
- A practical guide on utilising a social media tool for research communication purposes - we’re particularly interested in the overlooked and the innovative tools!
- Anything else you have experience in, or would like to share your knowledge on, regarding research uptake and social media.
A little bit of background on our platform:
Research to Action (R2A) is an initiative catering for the strategic and practical needs of people trying to improve the way development research is communicated and utilised. Our site currently has a weekly global audience of approximately 1,500 as well as ever-growing, engaged audiences on Twitter, Facebook,Google+, Vimeo, Flickr and Slideshare.
Our mission is to guide and support effective research engagement and communication. The result of which can “help give research a chance” to inform decision-making processes, bring about social change and have ‘impact’. We believe that if research is made more interesting, accessible and relevant to policymakers and practitioners, it will be more likely be utilised. We are very proud of our diverse and prolific list of guest bloggers to-date and hope that you will join their number with some fantastic contributions of your own!
Please get in touch with me if you are interested!
