C4D Focus/Experience

Having grown up in Vietnam because my parents manage a small NGO focusing on micro-credits and community healthcare, I am now gaining an academic grounding in development through a BA in Development Studies and Social Anthropology. A course this year in Development Communications sparked my interest in this sector and required me to produce my own development podcast. I hope to go further into this field.

Role

I am currently a student at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. I have volunteered with Youth With a Mission in Vietnam, writing case studies for their fundraising. Last summer I interned with Compassion International in their public relations department. Starting in late 2012 I have been involved in a journalism project for HabloCentro in Central and South America through the organization OxAid. With two other students from SOAS we are developing a curriculum for citizenship journalism training in Latin America.
