INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT Proofread and copy-edited: • “FEMSA Comercio CSR Report 2011” • “FEMSA Logística CSR Report 2012” • “Grupo Financiero Banorte CSR Report 2012” COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER | Mexico City (August 2010 – November 2012) Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) - Managed a team and developed a Communications Plan which is now used as a Best Practice standard in the Communications Strategies guide for field offices - Led and executed several public policy projects and advocacy campaigns to improve the distribution of funds, collect visions and project proposals of more than 100 actors in different sectors, and envision joint statements including the “5% for bicycle” and the “Visionary Citizens” agreements. - Coordinated and assisted forums and exhibitions in Mexico, Latin America and Asia to generate debate on present urban conditions, and get more people involved in bringing together ideas about sustainable solutions. Some of the events included "Our Cities Ourselves" with more than 500,000 visitors, over 130 placements in local, national, and international media, and a 500% increase in social media reach, the forum “Cities, Bicycles and the Future of Getting Around”, and the “International Forum on Mobility and Human Rights” in partnership with the Human Rights Commission (CDHDF). - Worked with high-ranking decision makers, like the Dutch and British Embassies, and city governments by highlighting international case studies, in order to foster public policies and develop successful local transportation projects with a direct impact on economic, social and environmental development in Mexico. - Executed Communications Plan for Transeunte Blog and other participatory strategies to raise awareness about sustainable and equitable transportation in Mexico and abroad, reaching 15,000 visitors per month, resulting in a 50% traffic increase. COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER MEXICO PROGRAM | Mexico City (January 2010 – August 2010) World Wildlife Fund - “Earth Hour” worldwide campaign. Event managed and planned in partnership with local and federal governments, as well as local communities to promote a low carbon economy, and fight against the consequences of climate change. Developed and executed campaign resulting in over 300,000 media hits. - Created Communications Plan for the “United Nations Climate Change Conference COP16”, which took place in Cancun, Quintana Roo in 2010. - Developed a social media strategy and established guidelines for administrative users, resulting in 5,000% increase in traffic and user interaction. JUNIOR CONSULTANT | Mexico City (July 2008 – December 2009) Grupo Axius CSR - Researched data and information, proofread and copy-edited documents, articles and publications such as manuals and social and environmental sustainability reports. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TRAINEE | Mexico City (February 2008 - July 2008) Cinepolis Foundation - Led cataract surgery campaigns “From loves comes sight” with the collaboration of more than 50 volunteers, benefiting more than 4,000 people living in marginal conditions in the states of Campeche and Michoacan. - Proofread and copy-edited the Cinepolis Sustainable Report 2007, the Communication of Progress Report for the Global Compact of the UN (obtaining a special distinction) and the affiliation process to the Every Human Has Rights initiative. - Collaborated in the strategy and execution of the Cinepolis Foundation in Mexico City and Michoacan. CORPORATE COMMUNICATION TRAINEE | Mexico City (August 2007 - November 2007)L´Oréal - Followed up relation and conciliation with governmental and international organizations such as the Secretariat of Health (SSA), CENSIDA (HIV/AIDS), the Mexican Commission of Cooperation with UNESCO (CONALMEX) and the Mexican Science Academy. - Collaborated in the launch and management of the L´Oréal Mexico social projects “For Young Woman in Science” and “Hairdressers against AIDS”.


Role

I am one of the few strategic communicators in Mexico that has had the opportunity to work in parallel for the public and private sectors, specialized in developing inclusive social and environmental projects to propel public policies. This has allowed me to found my niche: public policies, guided by communication strategies.
