Investigate approaches and implement communication methods among the marginalised victims of the tsunami and sectarian conflict in Aceh. We implement a grassroot, group approach in which participants explore ways, and implement plans aimed at poverty alleviation, empowerment and trauma recovery
Role
I am currently the communication advisor and external relation officer for Forum Bangun Aceh; an NGO providing project management, disaster relief, micro finance and education in Aceh. I am working in Aceh, but I am not Indonesian, originally from Italy and an Australian citizen; my fields of expertise are in community development, media and public health. For the past six years I have been working with an in post conflict and post natural disaster zones, facilitating participatory communication approaches for rehabilitation and trauma recovery.
