C4D Focus/Experience

I actively works to improve recognition of the community electronic media sector [Community Radio | Community TV | Community Film] & its work in and involvement with the communities it seeks to serve. BNNRC's outreach extends to local, national and international forums for communicating Knowledge for Development (KM4D). In this backdrop, communication is recognized as an essential human need and, therefore, as a basic human right.

Our working strategies are: 1. Communicating on the Public Sphere: The role of communication and media in exercising democratic political participation in society 2. Communicating Knowledge: The terms and means by which knowledge generated by society is communicated, or blocked, for use by different groups. 3. Civil Rights in Communication: The exercise of civil rights relating to the processes of communication in society & 4. Cultural Rights in Communication: The communication of diverse cultures, cultural forms and identities at the individual and social levels.

AHM Bazlur Rahman- S21BR: A Pioneer for Giving Voices to the Voiceless People through Community Radio, ICT4D & Social Dialogue in Bangladesh. +8801711881647 | www.bnnrc.net | He has seen first-hand how rural disadvantage people in Bangladesh are deprived of their basic rights, freedom of expression and are subject to discrimination in many areas of their lives in line with VOICE POVERTY.

He has made it his mission to work for the improvement of rural disadvantage people through an innovative social model like Giving Voices to the Voiceless People through Community Radio, ICT & Social Dialogue in Bangladesh. Having spent over two and half decades in the community media, ICT4D & social dialogue inline with voices to be heard!

Now around 20 Community Radio and Community Visual Radio stations broadcasting altogether 170 hours program on social, political, cultural, environmental & economical aimed at empowering of the rural disadvantage people in Bangladesh.

He heads up the Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication, one of the leading and pioneering media development related civil society organization(CSO) in Bangladesh, and is the Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) accredited with World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) of the United Nations and UN WSIS prize winner 2016 and Champion 2017, 2019 and 2020 for promoting media development & ICT4D.

After receiving the prestigious the United Nations recognition for the fourth times, He has driven his team more effectively which resulted in sharp rise in research and development regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI), Over-the-Top (OTT) services, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Internet addressing (DNS) ecosystem, Big Data, Data Privacy & Data Localization, Fintech and STEAM in development process in line with rural advancement for adding values through holistic approach in ensuring at the response through an equity lens & Shaping the Future of Media, Entertainment & Culture in the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Besides his tireless work ensuring the social, political, cultural, environmental & economic empowerment of Bangladeshi rural disadvantage youth and youth women, BNNRC has been facilitating, encouraging & creating an enabling environment for the youth and youth women to engage in the community media and journalism for developing as professional community media journalists.
