Amelia Shaw has Masters Degrees in Public Health and International Relations from Yale University. She is currently the Multiplatform Content Advisor for the Media for Development Initiative in Papua New Guinea. Her job is to assist the national broadcaster (NBC) to re-orient itself as a leader in communications for development in health, gender and education. She has helped the NBC to forge partnerships with major international NGOs such as UNICEF, Doctors without Borders and Population Services International to launch national radio and TV campaigns on safe motherhood, gender-based violence, and malaria. She has formerly worked as a foreign correspondent for National Public Radio in the United States, and as a TV producer for the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Haiti.
