C4D Focus/Experience

For over 18 years I have worked in the development sector in Southern Africa. During this time I have been actively involved with the design development and production of a wide range of training manuals and IEC materials for NGOs. My areas of speciality include environment, sustainable agriculture, urban communities, climate change adaptation, community resilience, public health and behaviour change. I have developed training materials on nutrition, agriculture, the environment and climate change. Among the publications which I have worked on are: for the Schools and Colleges Permaculture Programme: The SCOPE Activity Book.College Press. (2003) ISBN 1 77900 463 X and The SCOPE Facilitator’s Resource Book, (2004) College Press. ISBN 1 77900 475 5; for the Zimbabwe Nutrition Council in association with FAO and UNICEF (2007): Healthy Harvest: a training manual for community workers in growing, preparing, eating and processing healthy food. ISBN 0 7974 3209 4. I developed a range of materials for farmers for GRM International in support of their Seeds and Markets Programme and a series of training manuals for Cluster Agriculture Development Services in support of their Zimbabwe-Adding Value to Sustainable Agriculture Produce network.


Role

I am a freelance consultant working for a wide range of local and international NGOs. I have worked for Oxfam GB, Care International, Mercy Corps, Action Contre la Faim, Welthungerhilfe, UNICEF and FAO Zimbabwe.
