Dr Baharul Islam is a development communication expert in the areas of Education and Information Technology. He taught for 14 years in various universities in Asia and Africa. A former Associate Professor at NCERT, New Delhi and Addis Ababa University, he has also served as a consultant for UNESCO, UNECA and UNESCAP. He works as a Professor of Communication at the Indian Institute of Management (Kashipur) and Chair at the Center for Public Policy & Government. He also hold the position of the Chairman of the South Asia Development Gateway.
Role
The Development Gateway Foundation (DGF) is an international nonprofit organization based in USA that provides Web-based platforms that make aid and development efforts more effective around the world. One of its country gateways is South Asian Regional Development Gateway (SARDEG) - a regional initiative in South Asia for SAARC region covering India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal in the first phase.
