Dr. M. C. Rasmin is a competent media development specialist and an academician with 15 years of experience in media development, teaching, research and experimentations both locally and internationally. In the year 2008, Dr. M. C. Rasmin joined the Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF) as Director/CEO and worked there for 10 years. During the same period, he worked as a part-time employee at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation as a Radio Broadcaster. In 2017, he joined International Research Exchanges Board (IREX) as a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) and a Senior Partnership Director to provide leadership for a $ 6 million media development program. At IREX, he specialized in areas such as media and digitalization, media policy reform, investigative journalism, mobile journalism, media literacy-critical thinking and business enhancement of digital media. As an academic, he has developed a variety of learning curriculums on several subjects such as mobile journalism, media literacy, forum theatre, conflict-sensitive journalism, gender and media and digital storytelling which is presently extensively used by local universities and organizations. As of today, Dr. Rasmin is an accomplished media researcher having produced more than 25 scientific studies: published books, book chapters, journal articles, conference papers, learning and training curricula and reviews. Further, Rasmin has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Jaffna, University of Vocational Technologies, and KIIT University India. He was also the curriculum strategist and the lead trainer of one of the largest university-based media training programs funded by EU (2021/2) and trained 300 future journalists on diverse emerging subjects such as digital citizenship, mobile photography, digital drama, short-film, doodle art, etc.
