C4D Focus/Experience

Sébastien Taylor is a Franco-British freelance multimedia producer, participatory media facilitator and researcher based in Dakar, Senegal. After studying in Brussels at IHECS, Sébastien spent the next 11 years living and working mostly in the African Great Lakes region, Central and West Africa building expertise in social, digital and behaviour change communication, human rights, and public health. He has worked with different UN agencies and international NGOs.

At the end of 2021 he left a regional editor position to establish himself independently in March 2022 behind the creative social enterprise DOYOUKOPI and recently joined InsightShare Ltd as a freelance associate in participatory video facilitation.

Sébastien was selected to participate in the 2022 edition of Zelig's European Social Documentary training initiative (ESoDoc) and is currently working on his first web documentary series “Goorgoorlou” about informal workers in Senegal which combines grassroots collaborations, critical pedagogy, and multiplatform storytelling connecting personal stories to larger social issues.

Interests: participatory media, community radio, communication for social change,  i-docs, everything DIY and urban farming.
