C4D Focus/Experience

I hold a doctoral degree in Development Communication and Social Policy Analysis from the US and Sierra Leone. MS in Management and BA in Communication, International Relations and Political Science from the US. Did consultancies on M and E, Results-based Management and Media Analysis/Community Resource Mobilization. I have worked as a communication, media and policy/management expert for over 20 years now with many organizations, including INGOs and local NGOs (as consultant) producing strategic communication plans, IEC materials to address social issues, including cholera and youth employment. Recently i was a guest speaker at the UNICEF C4D conference in Dakar where i presented, evidence-based entertainment-education/behavior role modeling report on the effective of long running radio drama serials on SRH, child protection, development, participation and community mobilization. One thing i am happy about is that i am now using my development communication expertise in my current job. I am currently chairman for three small/local NGOs boards and also currently working on a social audit on youth (rural girls) and education.


Role

My INGO is based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Is called Population Media Center-SL. I am the country director managing HR, budget, IT and programmes. We are using radio drama serials and other communication products and services to address key social change and behavior role modelling issues. We have had success stories in other countries like Tanzania, Ethiopia and Nigeria.
