C4D Focus/Experience

New but exciting path as I co-lead the planning and roll-out of C4D activities in our World Vision Kenya office -from initiation (including stakeholder identification and buy-in), implementation (capacity building, training and mobilisation of field staff and community members) as well as monitoring and evaluating trends. I have co-led the development of a development communications curriculum for the Tanzania Centre for Development Cooperation, and -still under World Vision- partnered with an International Centre for Journalists Knight, Joachim Buwembo, to equip and empower community members in far-off rural places of Tanzania, as community journalists. Earlier on in my career, I trained journalists in Uganda, equipping them to cover development news, processes, and to champion journalism for social change.

Role

I work for World Vision, an international humanitarian NGO, as a communication specialist. I am the Regional Communications Advisor for World Vision's East Africa Regional Office, supporting communication initiatives across the nine country programme offices -Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda

  • Dear Geoffrey, Thank you so much for all your hard work for the Meet-Up, we were SO excited to see the photos ad they came through that night, it looked great, can't wait to hear all about it. Best Jackie and C4D Team
  • Thanks to the C4D members who showed up at the Southern Sun Mayfair Hotel, Thursday evening! Twenty five in attendance is a wonderful start for the first meet-up. It was gratifying  seeing each one of you at the meet-up, and even greater to hear the various, varied and passionate aspirations for the Kenya Chapter of the C4D Network. We are working on posting some photos, video clips and comments as we saw them coming.

  • Hi Geoffrey! Thank you for getting back so fast! May I kindly have your email address? I'd like to please share some thoughts with you. Best regards, Sanyu

  • HI Geoffrey, Mary-Sanyu has kindly volunteered to be the scribe and write-up the Kenya meet-up as a report/blog afterwards. Super.

  • Geoffrey Kalebbo Denye! I would be honored to serve under your leadership, as a committee member of the C4D Kenya Chapter. Can I reach you on email? I hope we can meet this Thursday (8 May) at the Southern Sun Mayfair hotel? Best regards, Sanyu
